THANKSGIVING IS ESSENTIAL
“Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ”
Ephesians 5:20 (Webster’s Bible Translation).
There are times when people think thanksgiving benefits God.
There is nothing we do towards the Lord which benefits God. Whatever God tells you to do, helps you.
God is self-sufficient and self-complete. He doesn’t depend on you to be satisfied. He has created an interdependence for us, to bring us into partnership with Him. This is mainly to help us get into the place of relevance.
There are people who think prayer is only about presenting a long list of requests. They give themselves to constant prayer demands. They don’t even think that thanksgiving is an essential part of Spiritual warfare.
That was how Jehoshaphat went to war!
“After consulting the people, the king appointed singers to walk ahead of the army, singing to the LORD and praising him for his holy splendor. This is what they sang: “Give thanks to the LORD; his faithful love endures forever!” 2 Chronicles 20:21 (NLT).
Who goes into such a fierce battle with singers ahead of the army?
And they weren’t even singing for help.
Their song was full of thanksgiving for the Lord’s faithfulness and mercies.
If you think there is nothing to thank God for, just know He has been MERCIFUL.
Thank Him for His ever-enduring MERCIES. (Read more about the Lord’s mercies).
When people begin to feel anxious, they act on the instruction of the word to pray; yet they forget that thanksgiving is essential.
Your prayer of supplication must be soaked in thanksgiving.
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Philippians 4:6 (Berean Standard Bible).
Learn to spend more hours to thank the Lord, than the hours you use in making a petition to the Lord.
Thanksgiving is not an option. It is a great demonstration of faith.
A thankful heart is able to acknowledge every good thing. And that is how faith finds full expression.
David said, “I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth” Psalm 34:1 (ESV).
You have to learn to thank the Lord at all times. As you wake up and get out of bed, thank the Lord. As you walk out of your room, thank the Lord. As you are served or serve yourself with food, thank the Lord. For every opportunity and at all times, GIVE THANKS!
This is God’s will for you.
“In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (KJV).

For faith finds its true expression in Thanksgiving

2Chr.5.13 The trumpeters and singers performed together in unison to praise and give thanks to the LORD. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals, and other instruments, they raised their voices and praised the LORD with these words: “He is so good! His faithful love endures forever!” At that moment a cloud filled the Temple of the LORD.
What a Great FAITH!!
Thanksgiving caused the presence of God to descend on the temple as cloud..wooq
Thanksgiving provokes the presence of YHVH always.
Thanksgiving is not an option. It is a great demonstration of faith.
As I praise, my FAITH is strengthened.
All the Nations of the Earth shall lift a heart of Thanksgiving unto your Name JESUS!!
All the Nations of the world shall become the Kingdom of our God and His CHRIST
I encourage others to be more thankful.. Because a heart of Thanksgiving is a great demonstration of Faith.

[…] From yesterday, we realised Thanksgiving is essential in our walk of faith.A thankful heart is a faithful heart.Thanksgiving is not just our response to what God has done. Thanksgiving is also part of honoring God. There are some who have no clue of the details of giving thanks to God. The thing is, as simple as thanksgiving or gratitude seems to be, it doesn’t come to people naturally. One has to be intentional to live a life of gratitude.To show gratitude is an attitude of gratefulness.An attitude of gratefulness towards God is dependent on how valuable God is to you. It is not first about what God has done for you, but who He is to you and how you honor Him. The knowledge of who God is will definitely bring to light the reality of His lovingkindness. “Throughout human history the fingerprints of God were upon them, yet they refused to honor him as God or even be thankful for his kindness…” Romans 1:21 (TPT). The more you fail to recognize who God is and be thankful for His lovingkindness, the more you expose your mind to corrupt thoughts.When you fail to see God’s goodness in your life, you will only entertain thoughts of defeat, discontentment, failure and disappointment.See the latter part of Romans 1:21, “…Instead, they entertained corrupt and foolish thoughts about what God was like. This left them with nothing but misguided hearts, steeped in moral darkness.” (TPT).Thanksgiving or showing gratitude to God supplies guidance and light to your heart.“Sincere gratitude is said to be the healthiest of all human emotions” Dr. Hans Selye (1907-82), Hungarian-Canadian endocrinologist. Learn to practice thanksgiving. We find our Lord Jesus showing us the way of thanksgiving. At different times we see the Lord being thankful for many things. Even before a miracle happens Jesus is already full of thanks and gratitude. Jesus was full of praise or thanksgiving before He fed the 4000 (Mt 15:36) and the 5000 (Jn 6:11). At the tomb of Lazarus, He gave thanks before raising him from the dead (Jn 11:41). Even at the Passover meal, our Lord Jesus gave thanks before sharing wine and breaking bread (Lk 22:17-19). Learn to express gratitude to God and the people around you. A grateful heart is attractive and peaceful. The adversary doesn’t want you in that state. He wants you to look all stressed and troubled. And you know what, miracles don’t abound in that state. David said, in Psalm 107, “Let everyone give all their praise and thanks to the Lord! Here’s why—he’s better than anyone could ever imagine.Yes, he’s always loving and kind, and his faithful love never ends.” (TPT). The King James makes it simple: “Give thanks to the Lord for He is good and His mercy endureth forever.” How many times have you given thanks to God already? Hallelujah!
