EPISODE 311 – YOU CAN HAVE GREAT FAITH 2

[…]  If you have read the previous episode of this subject matter, you will realise Jesus, on two different occasions, MARVELLED! Jesus, at some point in His earth, walked, jad moments where He stepped back and said “Wow!”. If you are wondering, was it the incident when He walked on water or the moment when He resurrected Lazarus that got Him amazed? Relax!  It was Jesus finding great faith in a man (the Roman Centurion), He never expected to such faith. And also a scenario where He couldn’t access or find any faith at all in a place where He thought there should have been great faith. “And Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor, except in his hometown and among his relatives and in his own household.” And he could do no mighty work there, except that he laid his hands on a few sick people and healed them. And He marveled because of their unbelief.“ Mark 6:4-6 (ESV) Now in this situation, Jesus marvelled at the faithlessness of the people of Nazareth. These people didn’t know they were demonstrating great ignorance and dishonor towards the Lord.Every man of faith walks in honor and understanding of Jesus.These people of Nazareth dishonoured Jesus so much: “But in the next breath they were cutting him down: “He’s just a carpenter—Mary’s boy. We’ve known him since he was a kid. We know his brothers, James, Justus, Jude, and Simon, and his sisters. Who does he think he is?” They tripped over what little they knew about him and fell, sprawling. And they never got any further.” Mark 6:3 (MSG). Instead of esteeming the authority of Jesus, they rather undermined Him. No wonder Jesus couldn’t work any great miracle among them. The first item needed to exercise great faith in your life is to demonstrate great level of reverence and humility towards GOD. Secondly, acknowledge the authority of Jesus. Let’s read through the scripture again to identify the third item needed to walk in Great Faith: “And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him, And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him.The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.When Jesus heard it, He marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.“ Matthew 8:5-10 (KJVGreat faith is not only seen as you walk in honor and also esteem the authority of Jesus.Great faith is also demonstrated when you walk in absolute obedience to the Word of God. It is having that unwavering confidence that whatever God says happens as He has said it. The Roman centurion knew when Jesus spoke to that sickness; it would obey immediately as a command. That is how faith works! It is an absolute confidence in the Word of God. It is time to act in great faith.It doesn’t matter what the challenge or ministry project is, make a decision to honor the Lord, recognize His power and authority and be confident that the word works; thus, it will do as it says. If you are reading this, know that the Lord has released you into a season of daring faith. Don’t take no for an answer, nor settle for less.Hold on to the Word of God, knowing that you walk in answers.The three items we have gleaned from the experience of the Roman centurion may seem simple but are rich in results. Enjoy great testimonies. Selah.
