EPISODE 470 – THE FIERY DARTS OF THE WICKED 1— PUT ON THE SHIELD OF FAITH 6

“Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.” 

Ephesians 6:16 (KJV)

And God’s word is clear on this:

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…” (Hosea 4:6)

As many who lack the true knowledge of God, His character and the things He has achieved for us in Christ, can easily become victims of the devices of the enemy.

This is why you must take a stand putting on the whole armor of God.

“so that we would not be exploited by the adversary, Satan, for we know his clever schemes.“ (2 Corinthians 2:11)

The schemes of the adversary are his weapons designed to shipwreck the faith of the saints, to distract them from their communion with the Lord and to cause them to live as mere men and not according to the purpose of God.

You must have the intelligence and understanding of how the enemy operates. This will guide and guard you from living in continuous defeat. He will not relent from attempting to exploit you. He will always come at you till you believe he is more powerful, the victory of the Lord is not true and you are powerless.

Meanwhile, his goal is to use you as an instrument against the Lord and His purpose.

Don’t fall for it!

The adversary will always aim at areas or points in your life where you are most vulnerable. The fiery darts of the enemy are poisonous and distractive.

None of it is harmless.

The Greek word for the “fiery darts” is belos. It is a specially made arrow with a tiny drilled hole, containing flammable fluids. When the arrows are projected, they seem harmless but upon impact on their target, they explode into raging flames; to burn their enemies.

These flammable arrows may be subtle, such as bitterness, little offences, unforgiveness, displeasure, disappointment, genuine fears, lies, mistakes, failures, absence of testimonies, self-esteem, jealousy, etc.

These may start through harmless situations or incidents, but when they are not intentionally or promptly and explosively extinguished, they will gradually creep into your heart and start by causing a systematic emotional breakdown. The attacks of the adversary are poisonous.

But thank God for the shield of faith! With the shield of faith, “you shall be able” to quench the fiery darts.

The word “able” is from the Greek word “dunamai” which means the might of power. Dunamai has its root in the word, “dunamis”; it means a dynamic ability to cause changes. It also denotes the explosion or explosiveness of power.

With the SHIELD OF FAITH, you are empowered to explode.

The SHIELD OF FAITH speaks of your spiritual and mental disposition by the word of God, our formation or strategy, and our explosive attitude towards the fiery darts of the enemy.

The fiery darts are assaults of the enemy, and the shield of faith makes you fortified and impregnable.

This is what the Prophet meant:

No weapon formed or forged or fashioned against you shall hurt you, prosper or succeed. This is your heritage in the Lord. (Isaiah 54:17)

Be always alert with your shield of faith to defend yourself against the attacks of the enemy.
