THE GIFT OF ETERNAL LIFE
” For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” Romans 6:23 (NKJV)
How many times have you heard this at crusades?
How many times have you heard this at “Easter Conventions”?
I suppose you might have heard this over and over again even before you got saved.
And most often the focus of this beautiful verse has been the first part, “For the wages of sin is death”.
It’s often quoted with much fearsome tone.
of course, the penalty or payment of sin is death.
Eternal death is the product of the nature of sin.
God said to Adam, “…for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die”
That was the spiritual death.
“In the past you were spiritually dead because of your disobedience and sins.” Ephesians 2:1 (GNT)
Death was and is the present state of those who had not received Jesus; or those who had rejected Jesus and those who reject Him.
However, the focus of this verse is not sin and its wages.
The focus of the verse is THE GIFT OF ETERNAL LIFE.
Paul the apostle was revealing the glorious and overwhelming gift of God to believers in Christ.
Previously I explained how salvation is FREE BUT NOT CHEAP. And through salvation we received the GIFT OF ETERNAL LIFE.
It is a gift and not a reward of our good works.
” For it is by grace [God’s remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you have been saved [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] through faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [not through your own effort], but it is the [undeserved, gracious] gift of God; not as a result of [your] works [nor your attempts to keep the Law], so that no one will [be able to] boast or take credit in any way [for his salvation].” Ephesians 2:8-9 (Amplfied).
This was the focus of the love of God, that you will receive eternal life only by believing in Jesus. (John 3:16).
Jesus declared that as His mandate as well.
” …I came that they may have life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].*” John 10:10 (Amplified)
This mandate of Jesus is not to be fulfilled in the future. It is not like you are going to receive the gift of eternal life after you have gone to heaven someday.
When you received Jesus, you received Eternal life as a gift. Eternal life is not a life you will have in the future.
It is a NOW LIFE.
It is the life of God which you have received now.
” And what is it that God has said? That he has given us eternal life and that this life is in his Son. So whoever has God’s Son has life; whoever does not have his Son, does not have life. I have written this to you who believe in the Son of God so that you may know you have eternal life.” 1 John 5:11-13 (TLB)
This is refreshing!
Beloved, walk in this consciousness that you have Eternal life and you have it as a gift through Christ Jesus.
You are not going to work for eternal life. It is yours now!

DECLARE THESE WORDS:
– I am now quickened unto life.
– The life of Christ is at work in me.
– I have eternal life as a gift.
-I am not working hard to receive eternal life. I have it now.
– I walk in the reality of the eternal life of God in me.
– I don’t have an ordinary life. I have the very life of God.

I live a life of eternity in Christ Jesus and that life no one can deprive me of it because I live it in Christ Jesus…….
I have eternal life as a gift. I do not have to work for it. It is a Life at Work in me NOW

Eternal death is spiritual death.
I was in spiritual death before I received Jesus Christ.
Salvation has saved us from spiritual death.
The focus of the love of God was that I will receive eternal life as a gift.
Eternal life is the life I have received now and not the life I will work for or receive in the future.
This salvation is solely by faith, by believing in Jesus Christ.

Never change their placement within a challenge.
I am patient amidst challenges.
It’s so amazing that after Naomi realized things were getting better, she wasn’t shy or proud enough to go back to her people.
Joshua 1:6-7 One day she left the land of Moab and returned to her home with her two daughters-in-law. She had heard that her God was pleased to visit his people and give them food for her. And she returned to the land of Judah from where she lived, and took her two daughters-in-law and set off.
Ruth didn’t care when her colleague left with a problem-
Judge 1:14 Again they wept openly. Orpah kissed her mother-in-law goodbye, but Ruth hugged her and held her tight. Judges 2, 16-17 But Ruth said, Don’t go home, wherever you go, I’ll go too. And where you live, I live. Your people are my people, your God is my God. Where you die I will die and be buried there.
Wow, it’s so amazing that Ruth knew her wealth was tied to Naomi’s placement.
It’s amazing how Ruth has the mentality that she’s going to make it with Naomi, but she’s been trying so hard not to put her hands between her thighs.
This led to her fate helper. She had no fear of her past.
3-4 And she set out on her journey. She went and began to gather in the fields and followed the harvesters. In time she landed in a field that belonged to Boaz, a relative of her father-in-law Elimelech. A little while later Boaz came out of Bethlehem and greeted the harvesters: “May God be with you!” They answered: “And may God bless you!”
Ruth 2 verse 17-18 Ruth gleaned in the field until evening. When she threshed out what she had gathered, she ended up with nearly a full sack of barley! She gathered up her gleanings, went back to town, and showed her mother-in-law the results of her day’s work; she also gave her the leftovers from her lunch
Ruth remembered her mum in law good times. I remember my leader in blessed times
Thank you Lord Jesus, for purchasing us with your blood, giving us the gift of eternal life by your ressurection.

I have eternal life, I don’t work for it . Thank you Jesus

It is so amazing that Apostle Paul decided to use wages of sin- works of law but the gift of God which was unmerited when we were outside Christ or aliens of the Word has been merited in Christ Jesus .
The gift of righteousness lead to salvation

Eternal Life is the very Life of God and it has been given into me through Christ Jesus. Was really inspired by 1 John 5: 11-13, especially verse 13 b which says i write to you who believe in the son of God that you know that you have eternal Life (Zoe). My my my!! I have eternal life now!!
