IS GOD YOUR NUMBER ONE?
” But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
When you read the above verse of the Bible what comes to mind?
Interestingly, there are some who only see “and all these things shall be added”.
It is not God they seek first, it is the all things which shall be added they seek.
Which is wrong!
The focus of Matthew 6:33 is God and not the other things. Make Him your focus and motive. Don’t pretend to be serving God, yet deep within your motive of action is the desire for things to be added to you and not God and His Kingdom.
Another group of people have a different understanding of the phrase,
“SEEK YE FIRST”.
To them, it means start your life with God, so that when a time comes you are too busy to be available for His Kingdom assignment He will understand.
So at the beginning of their lives they pursue God. You will find them in Church; serving and participating in Kingdom activities. They are involved in personal prayers and Bible studies. As they grow in business, grow in their finances, get married, start having children etc, then they shift their attention to the family, business etc. Their sincere idea is that, they now have to focus on what God has given them, because they have made the necessary contribution in God’s Kingdom or the Church.
That is ignorance or misconception of our relationship with God.
Others also have a list of priorities. To them God first means, “Make God number one”. Thus, on their priority list they have:
1. God (His Kingdom and Righteousness) first.
2. Academics (if they are students)
3. Family
4. Work etc
Others have
1. God first
2. Marriage/Spouse
3. Family
4. Work etc…
Which ever way they will outline their priority list, I want you to know that God doesn’t need to be there as Number One.
As a born-again, God has to be involved in every aspect of your life. He is not merely part of your list, He is your life and essence, that is the reality.
For God to be the first, means He has to be the Chief of your life. He must be the first in every aspect of your life.
This verse of scripture below should change your entire world view:
“In everything you do, put God first, and He will direct you and crown your efforts with success” Proverbs 3:6 (TLB)
God must be the first in your ministry. People can do ministry for themselves and not for the Lord. He must be the first in your family and marriage. He must be the first in your academics, career or profession and work. In everything you do, God has to be the center of it all. For God to be the first means, He is the reason you do what you do. Don’t just make Him Number 1 on your list. Nothing comes before Him and nothing comes after Him. He is the essence of all you do.

The Lord is my priority in everything I do. I was personally inspired by today’s Machaira with Apostle Bennie that my service to the Lord should not be solely dependent on what I will get from the highest God although I will definitely get rewarded for His service. That is what the Lord says as written in Matthew 6 verse 33.
The Lord should not be an option in my plan.
He should be my only plan.
I also learned that whatever I want to do, I must commit it to the Lord and He will establish my path. Practically, as I started praying for my Life Connect Members, I have seen a vast and radical transformation in their lives. I feel in my Spirit that whenever I minister to them, they understand and follow with their heart and it has fulfilled my prayer that is that they come to the full understanding of the knowledge of Christ.
Indeed if the Lord says that we should commit all our ways to Him and He will establish our paths and pray without ceasing, it is true.
THANK YOU LORD JESUS!!
One of my favourite verses in the Bible is Habakkuk 3 verses 17 to 18 in Bible is Habakkuk 3 verses 17 to 18- Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior.
And in today’s Bible reading, my favorite quote is found in Psalm 49 verses 5 to 6.
5 Why should I fear when evil days come,
when wicked deceivers surround me—
6 those who trust in their wealth
and boast of their great riches?
I have personally experienced testimonies in the light of that scripture where the Lord opened doors for me I COULD NOT UNDERSTAND.
From Matthew 5 verse. 23 After he had dismissed them, he went up to a mountainside by himself to pray.
I learned that after ministering to people and after my Life connect meetings, I have to pray.
I must always cultivate a Spirit of Prayer
God is not my means to an end. God is the beginning of me, the means of me and the end of me. I dont just seek him first and seek other things, all my dealings are by God, in God and for God. He is my direction, i dont seek him first and take my own direction. Glory to God
The Lord is the essence is all that I do.

Through todays Machaira. I have learnt that the lord is my priority in all that I do. Personally for me this scripture (Matthew 6:33) has really been a-think-about scripture for me and I have seen this scripture manifesting itself in my life and that of people who have acted on it.
Through the grace of God in Christ Commonwealth I have seen certain things happen in my life because i decided to propagate the gospel, study God’s word and have personal fellowship with God not with a motive of self but because of the love of God. A proof that God’s word never lies

Thank you Lord Jesus for Machaira. I’ve been so much blessed and enlightened by Machaira. My mind is renewed daily and sharpened through the transformative power in Machaira. Through today’s episode, I’ve got to realized that, God has to be involved in every aspect of my life because He is my life and essence. That means everything about me must revolve around God. I must put God’s interest above mine, I must decrease that He may increase, I must seek God in everything I do, I must subject everything to God and make God my focus. I must let God be Lord over my life, my finances and over everything concerning me . If I do these, all other things will gravitate towards me.

Glory glory glory! God is my very life…He influences every aspect of my Life. He is my one and only, my all in all. He is not just a part of me…He is the owner of my life, ways decisions. Matthew 6: 33 influences my thoughts!
