POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary responsibility of the Golf Teaching Professional is to promote the game of golf by offering outstanding instruction for individuals and groups in lesson, clinic, and golf school formats. Candidates for this position must be knowledgeable of various instructional methods, maintain currency with new developments on teaching golf, have a history of success in teaching players of all ability levels, and design personalized performance programs that improve golfer's ability to play. The Golf Teaching Professional will develop, promote and integrate a professional teaching program for Wycliffe members offering reasonable rates to be approved by the Head Professional and/or Director of Golf. The Golf Teaching Professional must provide a monthly calendar of availability 30 days in advance, maintain its' currency, develop promotional materials, and is responsible for booking his/her appointments as well as regular communication with students & Wycliffe staff members regarding availability and program develop.

DUTIES

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide competent golf instruction for all skill levels including club fitting experience when requested and approved by Head Golf Professional and/or Director of Golf
  • Proficiency in utilizing high-tech video analysis and launch monitor technology
  • Develop a personalized performance program for every student
  • Establish and maintain communication with students regarding personal instruction by email and other mediums
  • Engage, interact, and cooperate with members, guests, golf committees, and management by providing professional advice, opinions, assistance, and/or services
  • To be visible to the membership (walking the driving range during peak times, playing golf with the membership, etc)
  • Maintain open communication with the membership seeking feedback regarding golf instructional programs
  • Comply with the chain of command
  • Represent Wycliffe Golf and Country Club professionally at all times
  • Attend teaching and/or management seminars to continue education

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and five years or more related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

REASONING ABILITY

The Golf Teaching Professional should have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

The Golf Teaching Professional must be enrolled in the LPGA/PGA Apprentice Program having completed Level 1 in the PGA or LPGA Program, and actively work toward or maintain Class A Membership in either organization.
