Director of Restaurant and Event Center Operations
Otis and Associates, PC is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and results-driven Director of Restaurant and Event Center Operations. This pivotal leadership role is responsible for overseeing the complete operational success, financial performance, and high customer satisfaction across our entire portfolio of Restaurant and Event Center facilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a keen understanding of project management, and a passion for creating memorable, exceptional experiences for all guests and attendees.
Key Responsibilities
This role involves a dual focus: comprehensive facility operations and strategic event management.
Operational Leadership & Team Management
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of all facilities, ensuring seamless integration between Restaurant and event services.
• Apply highly knowledgeable expertise in the Food & Service industry to manage quality control, vendor relations, and profitability for all dining and catering operations.
• Directly lead, train, and manage department heads and staff, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and excellent service.
• Ensure all operations strictly adhere to local, state, and federal health, safety, and licensing regulations.
• Utilize skills to make quick, effective decisions in fast-paced situations to resolve operational issues and manage crises efficiently.
• Maintain full operational oversight, requiring the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed by the business schedule.
Strategic Event Management
• Develop and implement strategic plans for all events, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
• Oversee the entire event lifecycle from concept through execution, including budgeting, logistics, and post-event analysis.
• Lead and mentor the event professional team, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages creativity and innovation.
• Negotiate contracts with vendors, venues, and suppliers to secure the best terms and services for events.
• Implement process improvements to streamline event operations and enhance overall efficiency and quality of execution.
• Analyze feedback from attendees to continuously improve future events.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards throughout the planning and execution phases.
Financial & Business Strategy
• Collaborate with ownership and finance teams on budget planning, expense control, and maximizing revenue targets (P&L management).
• Collaborate with senior leadership to identify business development opportunities through events that enhance brand visibility and engagement.
Candidate Requirements
Experience & Leadership
• 4–10 years of progressive management experience specifically in combined Restaurant and Event Center operations.
• Proven experience in management roles within the events industry or related fields is highly valued.
• Demonstrated senior leadership experience, showcasing the ability to influence at all levels of an organization.
• Demonstrated ability to direct and mentor large teams, coupled with a strong ability to work together with others across all levels of the organization.
• Strong background in strategic planning and operations management, with a focus on delivering results.
• Exceptional negotiation skills with a track record of successful vendor management.
• Proficient in project management methodologies and tools to effectively manage multiple events simultaneously.
Education (Preferred)
• A Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is strongly preferred.
