THE BLESSINGS OF GIVING 1

” [Remember] this: he who sows sparingly and grudgingly will also reap sparingly and grudgingly, and he who sows generously [that blessings may come to someone] will also reap generously and with blessings.” 2 Corinthians 9:6 (Amplified Bible, Classic Edition)

Giving into the Lord’s assignment cannot be over-emphasised.
And there are great blessings of giving.
Your giving in the Lord is also a labour of love. And there is nothing done in the Lord, for the Lord and with the Lord which is in vain.

” Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.” 1 Cori thians 15:58 (ESV).
See also:

” For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.” Hebrews 6:10 (NKJV).

It will be unjust for God to forget your labor of love.
Which means whatever we do unto the Lord there is a blessedness of the Lord that comes upon it.
Your soul winning is not in vain.
Your giving  is not in vain.
For every giving, there is a blessing or a harvest you will reap.
I don’t disagree with the statement that, “We don’t give to be blessed, we give because we are blessed and a blessing.” This is so true. Nevertheless, there is blessing in giving.
Take a look at the opening verse again:

” [Remember] this: he who sows sparingly and grudgingly will also reap sparingly and grudgingly, and he who sows generously [that blessings may come to someone] will also reap generously and with blessings.” 2 Corinthians 9:6 (Amplified Bible, Classic Edition).

Clearly we see that, for every giving we will REAP or HARVEST its kind.
Thus, giving is as seed-sowing and will attract a kind of harvest.
As we discuss the blessing of giving, it will be expedient to look into this:

THERE IS A WAY NOT TO GIVE!

“That is why I thought it necessary to urge these brethren to go to you before I do and make arrangements in advance for this bountiful, promised gift of yours, so that it may be ready, not as an extortion [wrung out of you] but as a generous and willing gift.
[Remember] this: he who sows sparingly and grudgingly will also reap sparingly and grudgingly, and he who sows generously [that blessings may come to someone] will also reap generously and with blessings.

Let each one [give] as he has made up his own mind and purposed in his heart, not reluctantly or sorrowfully or under compulsion, for God loves (He takes pleasure in, prizes above other things, and is unwilling to abandon or to do without) a cheerful (joyous, “prompt to do it”) giver [whose heart is in his giving].” 2 Corinthians 9:5-7 (Amplified Bible, Classic Edition).

– You don’t give as an extortion [wrung out of you].

– You don’t give sparingly and grudgingly.

– You don’t give reluctantly or sorrowfully or under compulsion.

The similitude in all these kind of giving is the unwillingness to give. To give sparingly, is basically to hold back your giving. You don’t give with the mindset of how much you want to keep for yourself. To give this way means you have developed the beautiful giving heart of God.

Look at this:
Romans 8:32 (KJV)

He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?”

God did not spare (hold back), he did not give grudgingly, or reluctantly, under compulsion or sorrowfully.
Such giving will not attract bountiful harvest.
The first blessing you attract is:

GOD IS ABLE TO MAKE ALL GRACE (every favor and earthly blessing) COME TO YOU IN ABUNDANCE

Hallelujah!
Shalom.

DIG DEEPER:
(1 Chronicles 29:2-20; Luke 16:9-11; Proverbs 3:9-11; Deuteronomy 15:10; 2 Corinthians 8:1-15; 9:1-11; Deuteronomy 8:18)

WE PRAY:
That no matter what confronts or happens around us, we shall not withhold our giving neither shall we become reluctant or sorrowful in our giving.

BIBLE READING:
DAY 133: 1 Chronicles 25 -27

Waw… So if God had decided not to spare his only son where would I have been? He did not hold him back therefore I must also not hold back my giving (partnership).
Thank you sir for this deep knowledge.
