THE INOCULATION OF THE WORD
” How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping watch [on himself] according to Your word [conforming his life to Your precepts]. Psalm 119:9 (Amplified Bible)
Though at new birth we became citizens of Heaven, and were translated into the Kingdom of light, we are not taken out of the world.
The Lord placed us in this world for the fulfillment of His eternal purpose. There is a mandate of the Kingdom in this world, and we are co-labourers with God in fulfilling His eternal assignment.
We have a mandate to show forth the glory of the Lord, who called us out of darkness (1 Peter 2:9).
Whiles we are in this world, our minds are still exposed to the corruptibility of the world and its systems.
We are instructed through the epistles, not to be conformed to this world (Romans 12:2).
As we are in this world, we may be confronted by thoughts and imaginations which can corrupt our hearts.
However, the Lord did not only begat us anew by His Word, He also gave us His Word to inoculate us from the negative influences of the world.
The Lord has complete provisions to keep us from failing and falling.
Just because you are born again doesn’t mean the adversary wouldn’t throw arrows of doubts and lies towards you.
You have to grow in the knowledge of Christ and be conformed to His image.
Therefore, just as you have the Word as a:
The word of God is a detoxifier.
It inoculates and detoxifies your mind from error.
At new birth you were made clean by the Word and the Spirit.
However, there is a continuous work of cleansing by the Word.
” …For he died for us, sacrificing himself to make us holy and pure, cleansing us through the showering of the pure water of the Word of God. All that he does in us is designed to make us a mature church for his pleasure, until we become a source of praise to him—glorious and radiant, beautiful and holy, without fault or flaw. Ephesians 5:25-27 (TPT).
The cleansing of the Word is not a one time thing. It is a daily work of cleansing by the word of God.
There are things you hear and see from different family settings, interaction with friends at school, work colleagues, and even your communities; which subtly cultivates your mind with toxic thought patterns and concept of life.
Instead of thinking in conformity with the Word of Christ, you develop contradicting imagination.
This is why you must intentionally give your mind to the Word.
The Word in you, cleanses your heart and mind from poisonous utterances which may shipwreck your faith.
The Word can build an automatic rejection mechanism in your heart, preventing any thought of darkness.
And also before you got born again, your mind was exposed to different concepts of life, teachings and diverse culturing which contradicts the reality of the Kingdom. Thus, you must give yourself to the Word to continuously purify your mind.
How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping watch [on himself] according to Your word [conforming his life to Your precepts]. Psalm 119:9 (Amplified).
The Word of God purifies your mind and inoculates your heart from thoughts which cultivates fear, pride, sinfulness, selfishness, envy and doubts.
Sit under the waterfall of the Word everyday.
Have you fellowshipped with the WORD TODAY?
