TAKE OFF THE ILL-FITTING LOADS 1

“See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception [pseudo-intellectual babble], according to the tradition [and musings] of mere men, following the elementary principles of this world, rather than following [the truth—the teachings of] Christ.”

Colossians 2:8 (Amplified)

Oftentimes, we assume the greatest opposition to the gospel is “materialism” and “secularism”. But that isn’t what deeply opposes the divine intention. The greatest oppositions of our Faith are religion, philosophy and culture (founded mostly on narcissism). It’s not just the members of Christ who are not hooked to material things, most religious groupings frown at “materialism”. Yet their philosophy hewn out of their religious groundings, makes them radically oppose the knowledge of Christ.

These traditions, cultures and philosophies are not founded on Christ.
Please note, this isn’t some sort of anti-intellectualism propaganda.

In God’s plan and purpose, we are to enjoy and function only in the economy (arrangements or administration) of Grace.

This economy serves us only with an un-forceful rhythm. It doesn’t enslave us and put a yoke on our necks.

But that is not the situation with the law of Moses and even the traditions of men.

When the Church leaders met in Jerusalem to discuss the reality of the gospel.

Peter’s response to those who were trying to enforce Jewish laws upon the believers is still refreshing.

“So why on earth would you now limit God’s grace by placing a yoke of religious duties on the shoulders of the believers that neither we nor our ancestors have been able to bear?  Don’t you believe that we are introduced to eternal life through the grace of our Lord Jesus—the same grace that has brought these people new life?”
Acts 15:10-11 (TPT).

Look at what Jesus also said Himself,

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” Matthew 11:28-30 (Message)

This is what religion does, it puts an overload weight of rules and regulations upon your neck and demands perfection.

The religious traditions of men only demand perfection and righteousness, they don’t supply life.

Jesus didn’t say I have religious traditions, rules and regulations which will keep you righteous.

Jesus invites you to an organic fellowship of love and rest. He wants to share in your weakness, as He supplies strength to you through His grace.

There are some who teach that “Grace places demands of responsibility on us. Grace doesn’t want us to be irresponsible”.

Grace doesn’t promote laziness, however, the idea that God demands or Grace places demands on us is not consistent with God’s mindset.

Sincerely, I will humbly point out that Grace doesn’t place demands of responsibility on us. God doesn’t place demands on us. There’s no way we can meet God’s demands.

That’s why Jesus came!

He came to SUPPLY. Grace supplies us with the ability to produce results.
Not that we a sufficient of ourselves but our sufficiency is of God. (2 Corinthians 3:5)

That’s the difference between the Covenant of Promise (which was fulfilled as the New Covenant and given to us as a Testament) and the Old Covenant.

The OLD COVENANT wasn’t part of God’s eternal plan at all. It was never his intention to DEMAND ANYTHING FROM US.

His plan was to SUPPLY US WITH LIFE so that we would BE HIS EXPRESSION.

God’s intentional and eternal plan is for you to live a life of rest daily and not to be caged in stress.

Christ came that we will have Life; to be our true selves. The God-begotten selves.  (John 1:13, Message)

“I commend you to God, and to the word of His Grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified” Acts 20:32

Oh Glory to God

My relationship with the father is meant to be solely by Grace.

Observing days, dressing I’m a particular way, following some cultures and traditions of men is not what will qualify me to be accepted by the father.

Even the execution of my responsibilities in Christ is solely by His Grace.

It’s a Grace360 thing

I now understand.

Thank you Apostle Sir

It’s interesting how some preachers after enjoying the supply of Grace seek to put unbearable yokes on the neck of some believer. It really matters who you are listening to

One thing that ministered to me a lot was when Apostle Bennie said, God doesn’t place demands on us. Apostle said there is no way we can meet God’s demands. That is the perfect reason why He gave us Jesus. That through him we may live and have our being.
I refuse to give my mind to traditions, philosophies and religious acts that opposes the knowledge of Christ.
Grace makes the difference. Jesus came and he supplied grace which gives ability to achieve great results. Thank you Apostle Bennie

Apostle Peter’s submission at the Jerusalem meeting crowns it all:
“So why on earth would you now limit God’s grace by placing a yoke of religious duties on the shoulders of the believers that neither we nor our ancestors have been able to bear?”

I wonder how Apostle Peter would be feeling to see his refreshingly relieving submission neglected today by some in the body of Christ. Its unfortunate that even at the time of Apostle Paul, he faced similar issues with the Galatian brethren who sought to continue living by the works of the law rather than submitting to grace.

The whole purpose of the gospel is to relieve yokes of bondage and bring us out of slavery into the marvelous liberty of the Son of God.

The traditions of men only demand perfection and righteousness, they don’t supply life.
Strength is supplied to us through grace; the grace of God is responsible for our help.
It is not in God’s mindset to place demands on us. It is God’s heartbeat to supply his life to us so that we become his expression. Glory to God!

Thank u sir for the opportunity, pls concerning “Grace not putting demands on us…”if one has the ability to raise say 5 people, does it not mean it’s expected of him to do so by the ability granted him, and if yes is that not a demand expected of him by reason of his abilities?

God’s economy is designed to sole operate by Grace. Nothing more nothing less.

And it’s so interesting with how this grace has it’s inherent intelligence teaching us to deny ungodliness effortlessly and supplying us with the divine ability to produce kingdom results.

Oh what a life.
