BE ENRICHED WITH CHRIST’S WORD
” Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom…” Colossians 3:16 (NLT)
In the previous episode, I also explained the importance of taking responsibility of your spiritual growth.
No one matures in the Spirit automatically. You must make some commitments to grow spiritually.
The epistles were written to establish you in:
1. The consciousness of who Christ is.
2. The reality of what He has done for you.
3. Your responsibilities in Christ.
4. And how you are to conduct yourself in the world and among the saints.
We have looked at how you should:
Continue in the Faith —Episode 98
Continue Steadfastly In Prayer — Episode 99
Rejoice in the Lord — Episode 100
The Rule and Garrison of Peace — Episode 102
These are items which are crucial for your living in the newness of life.
However, they are all founded and fueled by the word of Christ.
Your understanding of joy, consistency in prayer, and enjoyment of the perfect peace of God are by the RICHNESS OF THE WORD OF CHRIST IN YOU.
How will you not live in fear?
How will you not walk in the sense of condemnation?
How will you not think you are an enemy of God?
It’s by how you have been enriched with the Message of Christ.
The word of Christ is the Word of faith. It is the same as the Word of His Grace. It is the gospel of our Lord Jesus.
You cannot live the fullness of your faith life until you are fully enriched with the gospel.
The word must dwell in you in all wisdom.
Now in the opening verse , you have to pay attention to the instructional verb used:
” Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom…” Colossians 3:16 (NLT).
This instruction is necessary because the Word will not automatically dwell in you in all wisdom, without your intention.
You must first of all understand that your life in Christ began by the WORD OF CHRIST.
The Word of Christ is the seed of God sown into you to produce divine life in you.
Now let’s look at this in 1 Peter 1:23. It will be great to see this beautiful verse of scripture in 5 different translations of the Bible:
” having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides [forever” (NKJV)
“for you have been born again [that is, reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, and set apart for His purpose] not of seed which is perishable but [from that which is] imperishable and immortal, that is, through the living and everlasting word of God.” (AMPLIFIED)
“ For through the eternal and living Word of God you have been born again. And this “seed” that he planted within you can never be destroyed but will live and grow inside of you forever” (TPT)
“Your new life is not like your old life. Your old birth came from mortal sperm; your new birth comes from God’s living Word. Just think: a life conceived by God himself!” (MSG)
“For you have a new life. It was not passed on to you from your parents, for the life they gave you will fade away. This new one will last forever, for it comes from Christ, God’s ever-living Message to men.” (TLB)
These should refresh your heart.
Now you can see exquisitely that your new birth in Christ is by the Word of Christ.
Therefore, you can only grow by the Word of Christ.
“as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby” 1 Peter 2:2 (NKJV).
You can only grow by the Word which brought you forth.
The Word of Christ must become your diet, for you were hewn in God by the Word.
Your living depends on it. You cannot live the purpose of God outside His Word.
You have to feed on it, masticate and absorb it until your are nourished and enriched by it.
Read Your Bible everyday and memorize the scriptures.

– I grow by the word.

– I am nourished by the word.
– I am enriched by the word.
– I feed on the word, for it is my diet.
– My mind is sanctified by the word.
– The word is my wisdom in all things.
